Ayayamu (あややム) is a hamster who appears in in the fourth Hamtaro movie, Hamtaro: The Mysterious Ogre's Picture Book Tower. She is voiced by, and is loosely based on the likeness of, singer Aya Matsuura.
Character description[]
Ayayamu lives in a giant, secluded library, and is the author of many books. She was writing the classic story of "Sunflower Taro" and had to finish it before 8:06, so she enlisted the Ham-Hams to help her act out the story.
In her earlier school years, Ayayamu was somewhat of a child prodigy; she was particularly skilled at drawing and writing. However, she was overly braggy about her talents, making her schoolmates become spiteful towards her. After catching her friends mocking her for her boastful attitude, Ayayamu decided to forever close herself inside the library and stopped believing in friendship. She remained completely alone in the library - save for the aid of her assistants, Shige Ham and Rika Ham - never once returning to the outside world.
At the end of the movie, Hamtaro helped her to come out of her shell, and re-believe in the power of friendship.
Trivia[]
